How to convert a YouTube video to MP3

The entire process takes about a minute. No account and no software are required.

   Copy a video URL

   Open the YouTube video you want. On a phone, tap Share and then Copy Link; on a computer, copy the address from the browser bar. Links from youtube.com/watch, youtu.be and YouTube Shorts all work.

   Paste it into the converter

   Go back to the converter, paste the link into the box and check that the whole URL was copied — long links should paste in one piece.

   Choose audio quality

   Pick between 64, 128, 192, 256 and 320 kbps. 320 kbps gives the best sound for music; 64 kbps is plenty for podcasts and spoken audio. See what 320 kbps actually means.

   Start the conversion

   Press Convert to MP3. The page shows the real progress — downloading, converting and uploading — so you always know what is happening.

   Download the result

   When the conversion finishes, press Download MP3. The file saves to your usual downloads folder with the video title as its name.

Supported quality settings

• 64 kbps — smallest files, ideal for speech, podcasts and audiobooks.
• 128 kbps — everyday listening at roughly half the size of 320.
• 192–256 kbps — a practical middle ground most listeners cannot tell apart from 320.
• 320 kbps — the highest setting, best for music on good headphones or speakers.

How the conversion works

The converter downloads the audio track of the video, transcodes it to the MP3 format at your chosen bitrate, and stores the result temporarily so you can download it. Files are kept for about 24 hours, and each download link stays valid for one hour. Nothing needs to be installed on your device.

The output bitrate describes how the MP3 was encoded, not the quality of the original YouTube audio. Choosing 320 kbps cannot improve a source recording that was uploaded at a lower quality.

Troubleshooting

• “Invalid URL” — the tool accepts youtube.com/watch, youtu.be and Shorts links. Make sure you copied the video link, not the channel or playlist page.
• Long videos do not convert — videos longer than 90 minutes are not supported.
• “Video unavailable” — private, age-restricted, region-blocked or deleted videos cannot be converted.
• Conversion failed — wait a moment and try again. Temporary network problems are retried automatically.
• Download link expired — links expire after one hour and files after about 24 hours. Convert the video again if needed.
