Which audio you may download

Before the technical part, settle the rights part. You should only download audio that falls into one of these categories:

• Content you own — your recordings and uploads.
• Content you have permission to download — the creator has told you it is fine.

• 64 kbps — clear speech; one-hour podcasts stay small.
• 128 kbps — casual everyday listening.
• 192–256 kbps — the sweet spot for most people on most equipment.
• 320 kbps — the highest MP3 setting; best for music on good gear.

Remember that the final MP3 can only sound as good as the audio that YouTube is serving. A 320 kbps conversion of a low-quality upload is still a low-quality recording.

Troubleshooting

• Link not accepted — check that it is a video URL, not a playlist or channel page.
• Video unavailable — private, age-restricted and region-locked videos cannot be processed.
• Files over 90 minutes — not supported; look for the part you need as its own video.
• Download expired — links last one hour and files about 24 hours; convert again if needed.
